A virologist from the University of Reading came to visit Highdown on Monday 7 December 2015 to deliver a presentation and question and answer session to more able students across the school. The presentation focused on dangerous viruses, such as Ebola.

Students were thoroughly engaged in the talk, and came up with some excellent questions. Benjamin Neuman, the virologist, was impressed with the student's knowledge and attitude. The students (and some science staff!) are now more clued-up with viruses, the Ebola vaccine and bats carrying similar viruses in the UK!
