    Every year Highdown School Sixth Form students host a Christmas Party for the children of Brookfields School. They decorated the barn with Christmas trees and made a Santa’s Grotto. Activities included drawing, pass the parcel, singing and dancing.

    The Autumn Quiz was a huge success earlier this term, with over 80 people attending and takings of over £1500 for the school.  Thank you so much to everyone who attended and supported the event.  We hope you had fun and enjoyed the chilli and puddings!  A big thank you to Dr. Capaldi who was quiz master for the night.

    I has been yet another fantastic session of Hockey this year, with over 75 students training week in, week out every Tuesday and Thursday. It has been brilliant to see everyone develop their individual skills and their game play, which has led to excellent results against local teams.

  • Year 9 Berkshire County Cup Rugby Champions!

    The Year 9 rugby team continues to excel. A few weeks ago they retained the Reading Rugby League for the third time - having won it in Year 7 and 8 - going the whole season undefeated. A new challenge was needed in the Berkshire County Cup. This tournament involves schools from across the county including independent and schools with established performance rugby programmes.

    A group of 15 High Achieving students visited University College at Oxford University on Monday 13th November. They had a tour of the college, met current students and experienced taster sessions in Law, History, and Philosophy Politics and Economics.

    Our current year 9 students worked hard for two weeks back in July on STEM projects designing a cool box to store vaccines in countries where the weather and the lack of refrigeration can be a major problem.
