Week A

August is a strange month when teachers are both sad to say goodbye to young people they have worked with over many years, yet excited for them receiving their examination results, the culmination of all their hard work, about to go off into the wider world of higher education or employment.

Destinations and Honours Board

In this section we celebrate the destinations of former students who have completed their A-Level/Level 3 studies to enrol at university to study a wide range of degree courses across the UK.

Planning for Life beyond Highdown

We dedicate much time in the Sixth Form to offering students advice and opportunities to help make the transition from Sixth Form to the wider worlds of employment, higher education and training.  As the year progresses we will add helpful resources for parents on the webpages below.

Careers

Some students know what they wish to do as a career and just need advice of the study route to take to achieve their goal. Others may be searching for career ideas.

Students can self-refer or be referred by their tutor to meet with the careers' adviser.

Highdown has a range of resources available to guide students in all years to choosing a career path. This includes information about professions, universities, having a gap year, applying for jobs and apprenticeships.

Companies in the local area and universities like to keep us informed about careers events they are hosting. You can find this information on our careers events page.
