Coronavirus Update 28 February 2020

Dear Parents, Carers and Families

We have been informed of a family who has travelled to northern Italy (within the category one region) and returned after half term. There are no symptoms of illness but they are now taking appropriate action having come to school earlier in the week. They are now self-isolating as a precaution and have contacted the health care professionals to arrange testing.

The school immediately contacted Public Health England and it was confirmed that no further action is necessary as per the advice already published and distributed to our families.

However should the family of a student who is vulnerable in terms of health wish to isolate until we have (hopefully) negative results confirmed, then that is the individual family's decision to take and we will authorise absence.

I would like to stress that we are constantly updating information from Public Health England. Please can we stress that it is vital that any affected families contact us so we can make the right decisions in consultation with the health care professionals.
