HIGHDOWN SCHOOL CELEBRATING IMPRESSIVE GCSE & VTQ RESULTS!
Students at Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre have secured their best ever set of GCSE results - with 37% of all entries being awarded the top grades (9, 8 and 7), and over 81% of students achieving a Grade 4 or higher in both English and Maths, with over 65% of students achieving a Grade 5 or better in both subjects.
These successes were also matched by excellent performances in the Sciences with Highdown students awarded 73 Grade 9s across Biology, Chemistry and Physics alone; Music, Music Technology and Hair and Beauty were also strong, keeping their record of great results for the second year running. The school is particularly proud of those students who took the challenge of studying Further Maths in their own time: every Friday after school - an amazing 72% of this group were awarded a Grade 7 or above.

Along with the exceptional A Level results the school celebrated last week, 2026 has proven to be a record-breaking year for Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre, and the school is delighted that these exceptional results reflect the determination, work ethic and enthusiasm of this fantastic cohort.

We are delighted that these results have opened doors for them to access the next stages of their educational journeys. These outcomes do not happen by accident and are a testament to the dedication and hard work of the students as well as the excellent support and guidance provided by staff and parents.
