A group of 48 year 8 students have returned from a week in the outdoor education centre Rhos-y-Gwaliau in north Wales close to beautiful Lake Bala. All the students began the week with a team orienteering activity and all returned without anyone getting lost.
During the week the students were climbing, sailing, gorge walking and raft building. The students also went on an overnight expedition in the welsh mountains. On expedition the students carried their own tents, equipment and food and they had to set up their camp. Once the groups had set up camp they then walked up to mountains of Cnicht.
In the evening the groups then had to cook themselves some dinner and one group were able to make a camp fire. All the students have learned excellent team skills and have also overcome a range of challenges. The Highdown staff who were working with the students are proud of what the year 8’s have achieved during the week.
