January 2021 Update

Arrangements for the return to school in January 2021

Following the announcement by Secretary of State for Education on 30th December 2020, students will return to school as follows:

Request for on-site provision for vulnerable students and/or children of critical workers - please complete this  form. Government guidance indicates that parents and carers keep their children at home if they can. The list of critical workers can be found  here.

Wednesday 6th to Friday 8th January:

Vulnerable students and children of critical workers may work in school.

Year 11 and Year 13 students will receive a mix of live 'real-time' and 'on demand' lessons via Class Charts (Y11) and Microsoft Teams (Y11 and Y13).

All other students will receive live 'on demand' lessons via Class Charts (Y7-10) and Microsoft Teams (Y12). Students can email their teachers if they have any questions about the work set.

Remote working will be set daily, following the school timetable and the usual school day timings for real-time lessons.

Monday 11th January to February half-term:

Vulnerable students and children of critical workers may work in school.

All students will receive a mix of live 'real-time' and 'on-demand' lessons via Class Charts and Microsoft Teams (via Office 365). Students' mentors will also be hosting Mentor Period sessions with their mentor groups and Heads of Achievement will also be facilitating some sessions as well as delivering year group assemblies. Students can email their teachers questions about the work set during 'on demand' lessons.

Remote working will be set daily, following the school timetable and the usual school day timings for real-time lessons.

If students are unsure about their real-time lessons timetable, they should email their class teacher(s).

Keeping safe and healthy:

Further details of the mass testing arrangements will be shared as soon as possible.

HANDS - FACE - SPACE. It is essential that students continue to bring a face covering (mask style) to school every day to wear in indoor and communal spaces. Students should also bring a coat as we have limited indoor spaces during break/lunchtimes. Furthermore, as we need to keep classrooms well ventilated, students will be permitted to wear their coats, if they wish to, in their classroom.

Students MUST bring a face covering (and a spare) to school.

Where possible, students should avoid using public transport to get to/from school. If they do use public transport they must wear a face covering.
