CARE : Our Co-Curricular Rewards Programme
CARE is Highdown's new co-curricular programme. As a school we are proud of the wide ranging co-curricular offer we provide our students, from Reptile Club to the Duke of Edinburgh Award. The CARE programme is designed to give students the recognition for the time and effort they put into co-curricular education as Highdown, rewarding them for a wide variety of activities, from simple acts of kindness all the way up to taking on leadership responsibilities. CARE stands for Community, Aspiration, Respect and Excellence and each year students in KS3 are given 12 challenges under each value that we would like them to complete.
When students have completed a challenge, they are awarded with a digital badge on ClassCharts. This allows students, staff and parents to track the badges students have achieved quickly and efficiently. Mentors will also sign their name under the badges students have completed in their knowledge organisers. In addition, after students have complete 20 of the 48 challenges they will be awarded a physical bronze badge in their house colours. This will allow students to display their badge on their blazer with pride. There will also be silver and gold badges that will be awarded to students for completing 30 and 40 challenges respectively.
