  • Another Successful Highdown Careers Fair

    Representatives from 40 organisations attended the Highdown Careers Fair last Wednesday evening, offering information and advice to students about apprenticeships, graduate schemes, university courses and work experience. The event was really well supported by over 400 students and parents and there was a real buzz and purpose to the evening. Thank you to everyone who came along.

  • Armistice 100 Event

    Highdown School held an Armistice 100 event on Monday 12th November..

    There was a short ceremony and a fantastic display of students' work  including "Armistice2018" postcard entries and winners, a mural by Y12 Enrichment students, a KS3 portrait art project, poetry and stories, drama monologues and our community poppy art based on the idea of "Everyone Remembered", where over 1500 poppies each commemorate someone who has fallen in conflict.

    Four Year 8 students, Leon Forsyth-Baker, Daisy Rundle, Teddy Hunnisett and Sophia Jackson, helped to deliver the whole school assembly on Diwali by re-telling the story of Prince Rama and Princess Sita.

  • Restart-A-Heart Day

    At Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre we were again proud to be involved in Restart-A-Heart Day on Tuesday 16 October 2018. The aim of Restart-A-Heart Day is to teach members of the public how to help restart the heart of someone who has suffered a cardiac arrest. We made it even bigger and better this year by continuing to educate more young people about the benefits of learning cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
