Highdown School and Sixth Form has been granted funding by National College of Teaching and Learning to deliver Teacher Subject Specialism Training (TSST) in Secondary Mathematics, Physics and French. The programmes will run from October 2018 to July 2019.

Training comprises of 3 full one day conferences and 6 further afternoon subject knowledge and pedagogy based training sessions through the academic year. Furthermore, each participant will have a mentor and will receive regular support.

In 2016-17, we ran our first TSST programme at Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre in Secondary Maths, facilitated by a Lead Practitioner in Maths (Mr Glendridding) from another local school. All participants successfully graduated from the programme in July 2017. Congratulations to Mrs Arnold, Miss Plaza-Moya, Miss Dubois, Miss Stevens, Mrs Rakowska and Mrs Miller.  ->

 

<- In 2017-18, we ran our second TSST programme at Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre in Secondary Maths, facilitated by Mr Gunbie, Mr Dineley and Mr Trimby. Congratulations to Mr Humphrey, Mrs Fucile, Mr Tombs, Mr Adamowski and Mrs McManus for successfully graduating from the programme in July 2018.

 

In 2017-18, we ran our first TSST programme in Physics, facilitated by Mr Haskins and Mrs Eliott at Highdown School. Congratulations to Mr Williams and Mr Akister for graduating from the programme in July 2018. ->
